Andy Mountain is a leading communications strategist who counsels numerous government agencies, public and private companies as well as non-profit organizations. He is an expert in public involvement, public affairs, online communications, organizational management and development, and issues management.
Andy’s experience is diverse and deep. He has led communications programs for some of Colorado’s most significant and controversial public infrastructure projects. Among the most prominent are his work on RTD’s FasTracks program and numerous water supply, storage and treatment projects for Denver Water, Aurora Water, Metro Wastewater and others. He has also helped multiple local, county and state governments work through an array of organizational and communications issues.
He is also recognized for his expertise in organizational management and development. From organizations with national and international operations to those in the earliest stages of development, he has advised countless executives on matters including organizational structure and process, business growth and strategic planning, optimizing field operations and effective relationships between organizations and their boards of directors.
Before joining GBSM in 2004, Andy worked as a communications consultant both independently and as part of other communications firms including MGA Communications in Denver and Ketchum in Washington D.C. His corporate experience includes work for Microsoft, MCI and Ryland Homes.
Andy graduated from the Phillip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland at College Park with a degree in journalism. A 2006 Leadership Denver graduate, Andy is an active leader in the community serving various board and volunteer roles for community and non-profit organizations including the American Diabetes Association, Denver Public Schools and the Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, among others.
